These Chrysler safety features watch the area around your vehicle and instantly warn you if they identify a potential accident situation. Several of these systems actively intervene to prevent accidents. As your Chrysler dealer, we want to tell you about some of the features you’ll find in your vehicle.
Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning With Active Braking
This system combines alerts with active assistance if required. It uses radar to detect a vehicle in front of you, then compares your speed to the other vehicle’s to determine if you’re closing too fast. If the system identifies that an accident might occur, it provides visual and audible warnings to alert you so you can slow down and avoid an accident.
If the distance continues to close, the system activates braking to slow your vehicle or bring it to an instant stop, depending on the situation. Instant braking will prevent a collision or reduce its severity at the very least.
Adaptive Cruise Control With Stop and Go
This feature allows you to set a specific speed that your Chrysler maintains until you intervene or it detects a vehicle ahead of you. You can also set the following distance, and your Chrysler will reduce speed if necessary to keep this distance. Stop and Go allows your vehicle to slow and stop if a vehicle ahead brakes, and then will resume its original speed when the other vehicle moves again.
Blind Spot Monitoring System
This system uses sensors that continually monitor your blind spots for vehicles you won’t see. If a vehicle is detected when you’re actively changing lanes, a warning icon appears in the corresponding side mirror, and a warning tone sounds. This gives you enough time to steer away and avoid a collision.
ParkSense Rear Park Assist
When you shift into reverse, this system activates and uses powerful sensors to detect stationary objects behind you. If something is detected, a warning icon will appear on your screen, and you’ll hear a warning sound.
Rear Cross Path Detection
This system also uses sensors, but they monitor the area to the left and right when you reverse. If they detect a vehicle, the system provides audio and visual warnings and will brake to prevent a collision.
Your Chrysler has many other safety features. If you’d like to know more, contact us today at Snethkamp CDJR of Gaylord in Gaylord, MI.
