2025 RAM 2500
The 2025 Ram 2500 has undergone significant upgrades in terms of power, technology, and design. The heavy-duty truck features an enhanced turbo-diesel engine and transmission, improving both performance and efficiency. The exterior receives a modern refresh with a bold front-end design incorporating split-tier LED headlights and C-shaped LED taillights. The six trim levels are available in both rear- and four-wheel-drive configurations. The 2025 Ram 2500 maintains impressive capabilities and towing capacity.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The Tradesman comes standard with a black grille design and LED headlights, with the Big Horn/Lone Star adding body-color door handles and chrome grille surrounds. The Laramie incorporates chrome elements on the grille, mirrors, and door handles, and the Rebel switches to a blacked-out grille, off-road-specific bumpers, and tow hooks. Unique wheel designs and off-road equipment, including a front-mounted winch, distinguish the Power Wagon, while the Limited Longhorn features a chrome grille with intricate mesh patterns and premium wheel options. The top of the range, the Limited trim, includes a premium chrome grille, body-color components, and exclusive wheel designs.
Engine (Power)
The new Ram 2500 is powered by a 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 producing 405 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque. The optional 6.7-liter Cummins turbo-diesel inline-six receives a 30-horsepower increase and now generates 430 horsepower and 1,075 pound-feet of torque. The diesel engine receives a new turbocharger and a higher-pressure fuel system, and updated glow plugs improve cold-weather performance. Both engines pair with the new TorqueFlite HD eight-speed automatic transmission and a 3.42 rear-axle ratio, helping reduce engine rpm during highway driving.
Performance
With a fifth-wheel setup, the maximum towing capability of the 2025 Ram 2500 is 36,610 pounds, and with the traditional hitch, it can pull up to 23,000 pounds. The maximum payload capacity reaches 4,440 pounds with the diesel engine. The new eight-speed transmission reduces engine rpm by 25% on the highway when equipped with the diesel engine. The transmission includes smart programming that automatically adjusts shift patterns based on load conditions.
Interior
A 12.3-inch digital instrument panel is standard on all trim levels. The center stack features a 12-inch touchscreen display with an optional upgrade to the 14.5-inch screen with split-screen functionality. Additional technology options include a 10.25-inch passenger-side touchscreen and dual wireless device charging stations. A 2.4 kW on-board inverter provides power through two 120-volt outlets. The gear selector maintains its column-mounted position across all configurations.
Safety Features
Standard safety equipment includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, and a 360-degree camera system with automatic blind-spot cameras. Big Horn trims and above add front and rear parking sensors. Optional safety technology includes drowsy-driver detection, traffic sign recognition, and lane departure warning with lane centering capabilities. You can add a digital rearview mirror and trailer guidance systems for improved towing safety.
